The Court emphasized that this move aligns with similar reservations provided in other prominent Bar Associations, including the Supreme Court Bar Association, Delhi High Court Bar Association, and Advocates' Association Bengaluru, where such reservations for women lawyers already exist.
The petitioner had requested that these reservations not only be implemented in Bar Associations but also be extended to the Bar Council of Gujarat. Addressing this request, the Supreme Court stated that the issue of extending such reservations to all State Bar Councils and the Bar Council of India would be examined at a later stage.
