Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Transfer of 7 High Court Judges to Promote Inclusivity and Strengthen Justice

In a significant move aimed at promoting inclusivity and improving the quality of judicial administration, the Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of seven judges from various High Courts across the country. This decision was taken during the Collegium meetings held on April 15 and April 19, 2025.

Four of the seven judges being transferred are currently serving in the Karnataka High Court. The transfers are as follows:

Justice Hemant Chandangoudar is recommended to be transferred from the Karnataka High Court to the Madras High Court.

Justice Krishnan Natarajan is proposed to be moved from the Karnataka High Court to the Kerala High Court.

Justice Neranahalli Srinivasan Sanjay Gowda is suggested to be transferred from the Karnataka High Court to the Gujarat High Court.

Justice Perugu Sree Sudha, currently serving in the Telangana High Court, is recommended for transfer to the Karnataka High Court.

Justice Kasoju Surendhar, also known as Justice K. Surender, is proposed to be transferred from the Telangana High Court to the Madras High Court.

Justice Dr. Kumbhajadala Manmadha Rao, who is currently in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, is recommended for transfer to the Karnataka High Court.

Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad is suggested to be moved from the Karnataka High Court to the Orissa High Court.
